AUDUBON NEW MEXICO in SANTA FE, NM

As the state office of the National Audubon Society, Audubon New Mexicoโ€™s mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earthโ€™s biological diversity.
For more than a century, Audubon has built a legacy of conservation success by mobilizing the strength of its network of members, Chapters, Audubon Centers, state offices and dedicated professional staff to connect people with nature and the power to protect it.

A powerful combination of science, education and policy expertise combine in efforts ranging from protection and restoration of local habitats to the implementation of policies that safeguard birds, other wildlife and the resources that sustain us allโ€”in the U.S. and Across the Americas.ย 

CIUDAD SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT in DURANGO, CO

Theย Ciudad Soil and Water Conservation District, a political subdivision of the state of New Mexico, promotes the conservation, improvement and responsible use of the natural resources on the rural and urban lands within its boundaries.

Responsibilities for SWCDs in the state are outlined in the New Mexico Soil and Water Conservation District Actย (73-20-45 et. seq. NMSA):

  • control and prevention of soil erosion;ย 
  • prevention of sediment and floodwater damage;ย 
  • furthering the conservation, development, beneficial application and proper disposal of water;ย 
  • promoting the use of impounded water for recreation, propagation of fish and wildlife, irrigation, and for urban and industrial needs;ย 
  • by the application of these measures, conserving and developing the natural resources of the state, providing for flood control, preserving wildlife, protecting the tax base, and promoting the health, safety and general welfare of the people of New Mexico.
CONSERVATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES in CARLSBAD, NM

CEHMM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that has created a wide range of cutting edge programs that work toward practical solutions to issues that affect both human health and the environment. ย These projects serve the community, the region, and the state through cooperative conservation, educational outreach, job creation, and research leading to resolution of important technical and environmental challenges.ย 

โ€‹CEHMMย has nationally recognized conservation programs in habitat conservation and management in support of two species of concern in New Mexico, the lesser prairie-chicken and the dunes sagebrush lizard. These programs provide for the conservation of the two species while affirming and supporting traditional, multiple land uses.

โ€‹CEHMM’sย new division, Environmental Services, is dedicated to providing a variety of environmental consultation and assistance. These include expediting permit authorizations regarding work on state and federal lands and pipeline trench surveillance (or reconnaissance).

โ€‹CEHMM also continues to maintain a small R&D algae project focused on the cultivation, harvesting, and oil extraction of a marine algae in support of establishing business opportunities in aquaculture for nutraceutical, medicinal, and other commercial applications for algal biomass.

COMMUNITY CONSENSUS INSTITUTE in BELEN, NM

We work on conflict resolution through consensus building, serving organizations, groups, and families confronting complex issues, involving multiple agendas, and seeking lasting, win/win solutions.ย  Our approach begins with seeking to understand the root causes of conflict, identifying all the individuals involved, and bringing them together in a collaborative process of visioning, trust building, and negotiation that empowers all parties to the conflict and ensures that all voices are heard and all interests are recognized and taken into account in the final decision.

โ€‹Our vision of social harmony and sustainability is rooted in the belief that as humans, we are all endowed with the capacity to identify our needs, articulate our interests, and respond responsibly and respectfully to our social and biological world.

NEW MEXICO ASSOCIATION OF CONSERVATION DISTRICTS in HOBBS, NM

The New Mexico Association of Conservation Districts is a private, not for profit association whose members are among the 47 Soil and Water Conservation Districts in New Mexico.ย  NMACD provides support to the local Soil and Water Conservation Districts on state and national issues, working with the New Mexico Legislature, Congressional Delegations, and related governmental agencies.ย  Assistance and coordination of training opportunities, funding opportunities, and information sharing, are part of the support provided to local Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

It is our mission โ€œTo conserve, regulate, propagate and protect the wildlife and fish within the state of New Mexico using a flexible management system that ensures sustainable use for public food supply, recreation and safety; and to provide for off-highway motor vehicle recreation that recognizes cultural, historic, and resource values while ensuring public safety.โ€

PARTNERS FOR FISH AND WILDLIFE in ALBUQUERQUE, NM

Our mission since 1987 (in NM since 1991) has been โ€œto efficiently achieve voluntary habitat restorationย on private lands, through financial and technical assistance, for the benefit of Federal Trust Speciesโ€.

By working cooperatively with private landowners to restore and enhance habitat on private lands, theย PFW Program helps reduce the reliance on regulation to achieve the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Serviceโ€™sย mission of conserving Trust species and keeping common species common.

We look for projects that improve or restore habitat components or functions, especially within a watershed or landscape context, minimize cost, and maximize partnerships.

Projects specifically designed to benefit federally-listed species, tribal projects, and other projects with unique habitat components are given extra consideration in the ranking process.

PUEBLO OF SANTA ANA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES in BERNALILLO, NM

To mission of the Department of Natural Resources is to develop and implement natural resource management programs which protect, preserve, and enhance the natural living environment for current tribal members and future generations.
